TANA RIVER COUNTY: “THE KING’S ARBITRARY DISPOTISM”

Essential liberty is being eroded simply because “some people” want to show us who is boss. And guess who the sacrificial lamb is? It is none other than Kwaraa recently referred to as Mandela. Accused 6 days ago for “undermining a public officer” which public officer? Who is the complainant(s)? Who are the witness? What evidence do they have against him? A case of intimidation? Most probably.

This is how shameless and “Principled” our “bosses” are and because the matter herein is a case without a complainant, you can take this to the bank dear “bosses”, you may kill the messenger but not the message. Your subtle approach has failed. We will not be intimidated. We will not be silenced.

I put it to you that the confluence of the rivers of dictatorship from the heart of the “bosses” drowns any gain principle they purport to hold. However, I will leave that to the court of public opinion to judge… As for the most of our analphabetic police officers, they might not do much to protect Tanarians when it comes to security but they do a great job of intimidating innocent citizens.

Anyway, this fascist bullying must stop. Free Mandela Now.

TANA RIVER COUNTY: WE ARE YET TO ENJOY THE FRUITS OF DEVOLUTION

The members of the Facebook group "Tana River County Kenya" have seen unpleasant posts directed against the governor and his counterparts….and despite the preponderance of despicability, not all are a vile. As much as I castigate the insults fashioned against the government officials of Tana River County, I congratulate positive or otherwise constructive criticism fashioned against these leaders in equal measure.

I will not waste my energy asking what the governor and his counterparts have done in terms of development for this county so far, because it is an undisputed fact that nothing much has been done. Since the Governor assumed power in 2013 we have not seen any commendable developments in the county. We did not have to wait for the World Bank report for us to know that our leaders have failed us, no, we have seen for ourselves.
H.E. Amb. Hussein Dado – Governor
County Government of Tana River

The County Government of Tana River is fashioned on omnipotent and imperious executive, sycophantic county assembly, timid opposition and subjugated people. These tyrannical regimes are premised on the four pillars of endemic corruption, lamentable incompetence, gross violation of human rights and negative ethnicity. Yet this problem of incompetence and failure to perform to the people’s expectations is vile, nauseating and perilous.  Resultantly, this has triggered the long quest by the people for positive change in the county.

This impotence in leadership has resulted in loss of public faith and confidence. Regardless, we the people of Tana River County are still hopeful that positive change will be realized in Tana River County in the near future. We are always praying and hoping for better days. But every day we crawl out of bed into reality that our government has not done much… and then worries start to add on…did we vote in the wrong leaders? Regrets are quickly replaced with fear, fear of the unknown.

Did we elect the wrong leaders or did we elect the right leaders who have deliberately failed, ignored and/or refused to deliver to the people’s expectations? Do we have a chance to redeem ourselves? Phalms 30:5(b) provides and I quote verbatim “Weeping may tarry all night, but joy comes in the morning” Yes, we keep falling but never defeated to rise again, come 2017 come, we the people shall elect performers and not people who have been vomiting on our shoes by sustaining the eating culture. The main duty of elected leaders is representation…we voted them in to represent the people and not their stomachs!!!

The executive arm of the government is composed of non-performers, egotistical, callous and incompetent leaders. However, the leaders of Tana River have two years to redeem their legacy. In the meantime, the people of Tana should remember that some of the people who vie for elective posts are good, some are bad and some are truly dreadful. Choose wisely come 2017…not on the basis of gender, or religion or tribe but on the basis of capabilities. I digress!!!

2 Corinthians 4: 17 “for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal joy that far outweighs them all”
Freedom is coming tomorrow.

DIGITAL LOVE

At the crack-of-dawn as I was walking along ring road towards the office, I bumped  into an old friend. Amidst our little tête-à-tête conversation she told me that she was happily married and asked whether I was married too, My answer was no. She further went ahead to ask me whether I was dating or maybe in a relationship, not knowing where the conversation was leading I became hesitant. I finally answered in the affirmative. She stared at me for five seconds, shrugged and replied “Mmmh, Modern love is tough…anyway am happy for you” and quickly changed the topic. I have been thinking about that statement for a while now and finally I tend to agree with her.

Contemporary love is indeed tough. In the modern world,   Mr. Right has been replaced with Mr. ‘Right Now’. I am not being pessimistic; it is the reality of life. “Seize the day, live the moment, relish in the ‘Now’”  has become our modus operendi.

The world has changed. In the olden days, Love used to mean romance: poetry, roses, candle lit dinners and going to the movies. Boys begged common friends for their phone numbers, wrote one ten page letters with cute cartoons drawn in the margins and composed songs for them. Today, handwritten long love letters have been replaced by single character emoticons.

In the Nineties, people fell in love and song libretto made sense i.e the likes of savage garden:
“I'll be your dream
I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy
I'll be your hope I'll be your love
Be everything that you need
I'll love you more with every breath
Truly, madly, deeply do
I will be strong I will be faithful
'cause I'm counting on
A new beginning
A reason for living
A deeper meaning, yeah”

But when I listen to the songs sang today I feel like hitting my head on the wall,  think Eminem and Rihanna singing ‘Love the way you lie’:
“Just gonna stand there and watch me burn,
But that's alright because I like the way it hurts.
Just gonna stand there and hear me cry,
But that's alright because I love the way you lie…

I love the way you lie”
Seriously, you love the way he lies? Are you OK?

Welcome to the free fall of digital, modern, present-day or otherwise contemporary love; it is breathless, relentless and unapologetic.  One falls  in love and out, breaks a heart, have her heart broken, dump, get dumped, have a fling, cheat, experiment, maintain ‘friends with benefits…yeah! Call it digital love, it is fast, it is ruthless, it has no limits. Speed dating powered by technology is the best description I can give it.

Relationships on steroids. One meets another on facebook, she google's him. He is hot she decides and inboxes him her number.  A little Facebook stalking then Whatsapp through the night, then dates are set via SMS. There goes the enigma, but not the drama. By date two, she is half way through a relationship. Texting, sexting, booty calls. Love and lust, inextricably entwined until it is over. Until she is at a party again exchanging Whatsapp contacts and twitter addresses. Again! Here we go. Again! The other relationship didn’t even last 3 weeks and immediately after the breakup she wants to enter into a relationship with someone she just met at a party that night for the first time!!!! What is that? You call it love at first sight? Ooh Please spare me that crap, you must be kidding me. It is like the end of a really good sad movie, then you eject and insert a  new disc. But hey, this is not a Celine Dion song, they seem so naive today. Romance instagrammed: Charming, interesting and/or balmy but far from real.

Love today is very intricate, an information overload, never-ending connectivity, inevitable uncertainty… I die!!! But in my humble opinion it is still love, and it is still real. And I further submit that perhaps, it is more resilient. Because ironically, in this age of high-tempo relationships, people are more understanding than ever before.
After all, we have all ‘been there’ and we know what it is like to be heartbroken, to cheat, To fall in love truly, madly, and deeply and even to fall out of love.

So after reading this you have become more cynical? Desired effect, it is called growing up. If you have had another bad relationship that is fine because it will make you appreciate the good ones. If you have recently had your heart broken again, take pride in your courage to keep believing. Regardless of the foregoing, do not be afraid to fall in love. “To fear love is to fear life, and those that fear life are already three parts dead.” If you are currently in a relationship, I am happy for you…My humble advice, luxuriate the good times while they last even if they are temporary. Maybe Mr. Right Now will turn out to be Mr. Right, Maybe he won’t.

But in the end you will realize that love has not really changed. Our generation is as infatuated with finding “the one” as our parents generation was. The only difference is that our odds are better. After all, we are more willing to take chances and risks, more open to living life on our own terms. And DIGITAL LOVE has made us so much braver and stronger.

The strongest hearts are the ones that have been broken”

FATOU BENSOUDA SHOULD ADMIT THAT SHE HAS NO CASE AGAINST PRESIDENT KENYATTA AND HIS DEPUTY WILLIAM RUTTO.

Since the confirmation of charges against ICC suspect President Kenyatta and his counterpart Deputy President William Ruto, we have seen many comedies of errors from the ICC and the prosecution. In Ruto's case we have seen witnesses admit to the court that they have been bribed to give evidence against him. How can a trial continue when witnesses withdraw their testimony in mass?

In uhuru's case we have seen the prosecutor admit that she has inadequate and or unsatisfactory evidence to proceed with Uhuru case.  Instead of the court closing the file, it allows the prosecutor to engage and indulge in a sickening judicial jamboree. It is important to note that as at Friday the 5th day of September 2014, his trial for five counts of crimes against humanity had been postponed four times. With the ICC Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda seeking another adjournment, this will be the fifth time the matter fails to take off. If there is lack of evidence, why is the court reluctant to terminate the case? In fact, for a prosecutor to admit she does not have sufficient evidence and fail to withdraw the case is a miscarriage of justice.

The fact is that the prosecutor didn’t do any investigation and instead relied on witnesses that were paid for by local NGOs. Bensouda should realize that her case is an embarrassment to her office, the court and the entire justice system; she should therefore withdraw the case like she did in Muthaura's case. From the foregoing, there is little doubt that Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda has no case against our beloved president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, thus I am still expecting good news from the Hague based International Criminal Court.
