My Hasawa

So after many months of praying and planning, our Hasawa finally arrived…Hasawa is a Pokomo Term for Traditional Bride Price Ceremony.

My Hasawa was held at the my home in Ngao on 21st December 2019 when Elisha Buya paid my dowry …it was a lovely time to see both our families share, laugh and have a good time…We thank God for such a great event and we thank all our friends who stood by us. That is a big step to us becoming husband and wife as we wait for our wedding day which will be soon.

I Thank you Oliver Bite Photography for capturing all the wonderful moments. Thanks akinyi Odongo Kenya for the wonderful dress. When I put it on, I knew nothing else was going to compare. I felt so beautiful😍.

It all started with the bride and her maids getting ready for the day as the Groom and his family travelled all the way from Hola to come and pay the dowry.

When they arrived it was time for the dowry negotiations which took around 2 hours....

A few minutes to noon... The bride agreed to her parents collecting  the dowry and indeed the dowry was paid...

And then it was time for the party...

The groom and his best man started off the procession. They swayed to Rayvanny's song titled "I love you" thus setting the mood for the day.

Our parents followed suit. We thank all of them for bringing us into this world. Raising us the right way. Giving us proper education and being supportive in every step of our lives.

The kids were amazing too. And my handsome Shaffy and his Cousin Kyla were part of the procession too... It was simply beautiful. Thanks Baby Shaffy for being my pillar... A friend I can always lean on.

And then the maids which included two of my sisters and the rest my closest friends. They had all been supportive throughout the journey...during the procession they danced to Rudeboy Psquares song titled "fire fire"

And then the bride and her best friend... The maid of honour... Hon. Melisa Hadida. I swayed to Ed sheeran's song titled "Perfect"

After the procession we had some entertainment including Kitoko. Kitoko is a pokomo Traditional dance... Everything was beautiful.

And then the cake cutting ceremony. The cake was beautiful and within the traditional theme.. With a guard on top and some beads on the side.

Best man Cake Ceremony Extraordinaire, complete with a champagne popping degree. Thanks Reinhard Myeuko.

Friends and family did not fail to give us some gifts too. May God bless them for me.

Our MC Hilton Bungulu was amazing and hilarious too. He made our day together with his Co. MC.

My son was celebrated with me every step of the way...he was very supportive and hardly left my side. Thanks Love.
The maids and the best man were dressed by Waridi. Waridi Fashions are surely very talented. They dressed the male kids and my father too. May God bless the work of their hands.

And the best thing that can happen to a person is to have a supportive family and friends. I thank everyone who worked round the clock to ensure that this day was a success.

Thank you my friend Lilian Mutemyo for doing everything possible to ensure that the day was successful. Thank you my Assembly colleagues Mr. Bashir, Ali Galole, Felix Wario, Clarina and Tsaele for being present and supporting me, I will never take it for granted. And To everyone who attended or participated in any way, I say Thank You.
